KFC and Mooyah

Today was my Biggest Loser weigh-in day at work. I only lost 1.6 pounds. I realize that this is a loss and any loss is good. However, I know I could have done a lot better if I had tried. I didn't get any workouts or marathon training in. I also ate a lot of fast food. They opened a new burger place by my house called Mooyah. I've never been much of a burger person, I can take 'em or leave 'em. But my husband, my daughter and I went there last week after one of Casey's tee ball games. Oh boy. I had a serious foodgasm that night. The burger was scrumptious and the fries were downright sinful. This is a bad thing for me. I had KFC the other night. I always get the mashed potato bowl and I eat the whole thing because I'm usually famished by dinner. I always tell myself I am not going to eat the whole thing next time, that I need to put half of it in a container for lunch the next day. But I never do it. And this night was no different. Not only did I eat the whole bowl, but I ate 2 biscuits just because my husband put them in front of me. I usually don't eat the biscuits because my meal doesn't come with them, but that night I ate both biscuits and the whole mashed potato bowl. I really need to get to the store to get some healthy snacks for the day so I don't overeat at lunch and dinner. That is my biggest downfall. I don't jones for chocolate or sweets like most people do. I just get really hungry really fast. And then I eat a lot. And by the time I can feel that the food is doing its job, I'm stuffed and then miserable. I was actually in physical pain the other night from my KFC bowl.

I'm not going to let this week get me down, though. Just because I had a bad week doesn't mean I can't get back on track. You can always get back on track. As one of my former Weight Watchers leaders once said, "If you break one of you dinner plates, you don't go smash all of the rest of the dishes in your kitchen, do you?" Of course not. So why do we sabotage our efforts each time we have one little slip up?
